Tina Russo is an original character in the series, designed as a contrast to Melissa Duck’s personality. Originally, Melissa Duck was intended to be Daffy’s girlfriend, having appeared in cartoons like The Scarlett Pumpernickel and The Ducxorcist, as well as in Baby Looney Tunes.

However, Warner Bros. was uncertain whether audiences would still recognize Melissa, so they created Tina to take her place. Tina is the first character to undergo three complete redesigns. Initially, she had pinkish-white feathers and purple hair, but her appearance was later changed to yellow feathers with brown hair.

After discovering Daffy’s talent for hairdressing, Tina has him do all of her beauty school homework. As Daffy grows more invested in hairstyling, Tina decides to quit beauty school and return to her job at the Copy Place as the new assistant manager. When she leaves, Daffy steps in and takes her place—quite literally.

Later, Tina returns to the school to return a mannequin head and catches Daffy impersonating her. After Daffy becomes a licensed cosmetologist, Tina creates business cards for him at the Copy Place.

The Shelf – Daffy Duck Girlfriend

In The Shelf, Tina arrives at Bugs’ house to pick up Daffy for their date. While waiting, she watches Bugs attempt to install a shelf. After Bugs drills into something metallic, Tina informs him that he didn’t hit a stud but a junction box or water pipe. Tina’s warning proves accurate when Bugs realizes he has drilled into a water pipe, causing the water in the house to shut off.

Tina tells Bugs that he’ll need professional help to fix the water pipe but offers to repair it herself, though it will take a few days. Later, Tina is seen having dinner with Daffy at Porky’s house, where Daffy is now staying while Bugs works on the pipe.
