However, recently the British author has come to the surface again due to some alleged accusations from his wife. Neil Gaiman has been accused of sexual assault and the victim is not just one woman. Find out more about these accusations and the author’s relationship with his wife.

Neil Gaiman Wife

The British author of the comic series “The Sandman” married Amanda Palmer in 2011. Although they seemed happily married, their relationship was an unhappy one from the start. This resulted in their ultimate divorce in 2022. It was later revealed in this year, 2025, that the marriage was consumed with sexual assault.

Amanda Palmer is a famous musician and performance artist of all time. Her marriage to Neil Gaiman, another celebrity in the genre of writing, and music was admired by many of their fans. The couple worked together to make some of the finest, creative works together. Their separation was a shock to the world, and it arrived with lots of tension between the couple.

Gaiman And Palmer Relationship

The marriage between Gaiman and Amanda Palmer was not ordinary. It involved several factors which people might not see in any other marriage. Their relationship started back in 2011, and from the beginning, the couple decided to have an open relationship.

Palmer and Gaiman decided to discuss their struggles in regard to their respective career along with the responsibilities of marriage and parenthood. This narrative of the couple divided their fans. Some of them could relate to their thinking while others gave them criticism about their point of view. However, it can be simply stated that their marriage and relationship with each other could be stated as controversial.

The main problems in their marriage started when the couple faced lockdown in 2020. The entire world was in lockdown when Gaiman decided to travel from New Zealand to the Isle of Skye, leaving his wife and his child behind. This brought much media attention, bringing the relationship of the couple back into the spotlight. Palmer stayed back with their son in New Zealand. She posted some kind of cryptic message on social media, giving some kind of hint about problems that were much deeper in their marriage.

Palmer and Gaiman decided to divorce each other in 2022. They both agreed to co-parent their son, Anthony “Ash” Palmer Gaiman who was born in 2015. Although their marriage ended, the couple decided to be friends with each other despite their divorce.

Despite their marriage being open, the problems reported among them were far more than what people imagined. Gaiman had relationships with many other women even after the birth of their child. It is reported that the couple decided mutually that their relationship should be closed after Palmer became pregnant with their child.

However, despite the mutual agreement between them, Gaiman continued to have a relationship with some other women. This troubled Palmer a lot, who felt betrayed by her husband.

One friend of Palmer reported that the relationship between the couple was far worse than what everyone imagined. Palmer’s friend gave an interview in which she stated that Palmer discussed with her how their relationship had so many problems. She remembered Palmer once saying:

Sexual Assault Allegations On Giaman

Everything turned upside down in the world of Gaiman when multiple women came forward with sexual allegations against him. In early 2025, several women decided to step forward and reveal the truth that they had been hiding for several years. Some of these women had already spoken to the media about the sexual allegations in 2024. While the rest were new faces that came to light.

These allegations from the women include sexual assault, forced sex, and many inhuman things. It is reported by many women that these interactions took place during professional meetings with Gaiman.

Scarlett Pavlovich, the previous nanny for Palmer, revealed that Gaiman once tried to force her into sexual assault within the bathtub, back in 2022. According to her, she resisted the forceful act from Gaiman but he persisted himself over her.

Another woman who accused Gaiman was Katherine Kendall, who revealed that Gaiman forced himself on her during a tour back in 2012. Some of the women claim that during the sexual act committed by Gaiman, he wanted them to call him “master”. Maybe this is one such thing that Palmer spoke about the dark things that go on in the head of her former husband.

There is no reply from the British author as of yet. Many people are still awaiting his reply to this overall scenario. However, it is clear that these allegations have made a dark image looming on the head of the author whose image was already hanging from a thread.

Amanda Palmer’s Response

The former maid of Scarlett claims that she reported this incident to Amanda back in March 2022. Although she did not mention sexual assault, rather she stated about Gaiman trying to force himself on her. According to Scarlett, Palmer simply said:

14 women have come to me about this.

Pavlovich decided to file a police report in New Zealand where she only required a testimony from Palmer. However, to the surprise of everyone, Palmer refused to give testimony against her husband. This revealed that maybe she knew about the sexual activities of her husband. Palmer now focuses on her career and at some point, after her divorce, she stated:
