Hunniford has simply decided to change her eating habits. This decision has been taken to further improve her diet and manage her health. The television presenter from Ireland came back to the panel of the show ‘Loose Women’ on 7 October 2024. She recently mourned the death of her husband, Stephen Way in August. Stephen lost his life after suffering from a prolonged illness.

Weight Loss

The veteran presenter from Ireland has laid some concerns regarding her health. She admits to having lost some weight which may affect her health. Hunniford had a conversation with her fellow hosts Denise Welch, Charlene White, and Olivia Attwood as they expressed concern by saying ‘you are thinner.” This was said by Charlene who asked:

Obviously grief presents itself in different ways and I it can do so physically as well. Before anyone starts, you know, worrying that you’re unwell and that you’re smaller than you were when you were here last time, can you clear that up?

Gloria replied with laughter and stated that she was always the smaller one among the crew of Loose Women. She then continued to insist that she was completely fine and it was only because of losing her loved one.

The thing is that, obviously when your partner’s ill, like the anxiety and the worry and all of that. Of course I’ve lost weight because you don’t eat properly, you’re always thinking of the other person. But I am fine, thank you very much indeed and my two sons when they come to visit they always watch what I eat.

However, Gloria further insisted that nobody should worry about her as she feels well. She then expressed her thanks to the panel of Loose Women for their thoughtful inquiry about her health. Many fans sent wishes of good health to Gloria on social media after the show. Her fans were also quick to appreciate the panel of Loose Women as they showed their concern for Gloria.

Husband Death

Losing a husband, especially at an age like Gloria, is not easy. All her fans and her closest relatives are behind her. Back in August 2024, the Stephen Wary family announced that their child had passed away. Their statement read as follows:

It is with huge sadness and very heavy hearts that we share the passing of Stephen Way, Gloria’s beloved husband, who lost his battle yesterday afternoon. Stephen had been heroically fighting his illness… but always with great tenacity and a positive spirit.

Coping with such a loss can be hard for a woman who is 84 years old. However, the Ireland TV presenter remembers her husband as a loving and kind man. There is no doubt that it will take her some time to recover from this. Gloria herself stated after the demise of her husband that:

Stephen was a gentleman and a giant of a man, who will leave the most enormous void not only in my life but our entire family. He was an incredibly kind, generous, and caring man, with a delightfully quirky sense of humor, which remained till the end. We had a tremendously happy 25-year marriage and did so many beautiful and exciting things together that I will always cherish.

NHS Campaign

The famous TV presenter, Gloria Hunniford has teamed with the National Health Service (NHS) to urge people to check if their blood levels are more than 40 years old. New research has shown that 1 out of 14 people assume that high blood pressure does not have any symptoms. NHS is emphasizing again and again that high blood is a ‘silent killer’.

Gloria has previously lost her father to a stroke caused by high blood pressure. She almost lost her husband to the same cause, but he managed to recover. This is why Gloria wants to help the NHS spread more awareness among people as she deemed the initiative of the NHS as exceptional.
