His life went down a horrible path where he had to spend five weeks in rehab after taking an overdose. Looking back at the situation Boe said:

“It (ayahuasca) crossed my path at what I felt was the right time. I was in a difficult place, the loneliness had kicked in, I was trying to find my tool bag of things to help me through my day and get me through life at the time.”

He shared that a friend invited him to their house for an ayahuasca ceremony. Boe explained that he was willing to try anything that might help at the time, so he decided to go. He recalled his first experience, describing it as a very positive one with good results.

However, he added that ayahuasca can have varying effects, often bringing up issues that need to be confronted. He acknowledged that, at times, it can be a difficult journey. The opera singer further explained:

“It’s not something I do daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. It’s something that I haven’t done for a very long time. And at the time that I did it, I felt it helped. But it is an alternative medicine that’s not been recognised.”

The opera singer said that recovery requires ongoing effort. He must stay on top of it, constantly reflect on himself, and maintain progress. Additionally, he shared that it’s been a time of spending much time alone, reflecting on the past, and considering the new direction of his life.
