2025 Grammy: Kendrick Lamar Wins 5 Awards For Drake Diss Track “Not Like Us”

The Awards for the 2025 Grammys have been announced, and the winners have taken the internet by storm. It was a good year for some singers like Kendrick Lamar, who won 5 Grammys this year. However, it was disappointing for some other celebrities like Taylor Swift who went home empty-handed.

Key Highlights

  • Beyoncé got 11 nominations in this year’s Grammy, and it was her first win for Album of the Year award.
  • Kendrick Lamar got 5 Grammys and his song “Not Like Us” won Record of the Year.
  • Sabrina Carpenter also won 2 Grammys this year.
  • Grammy 2025 raised $7 million for the relief efforts in catering to the Los Angeles wildfire.

Kendrick Lamar Vs. Drake

The 67th Grammy Awards have brought Drake back into the trending news. This is not because he has won a Grammy award, but it is solely because Kendrick Lamar has won 5 Grammys this year. His song “Not Like Us” was a complete domination in the rap category. The American wrapper also won some general field awards for this song such as “Song of the Year” and “Record of the Year”. His 5 Grammy 2025 awards are as follows:

  • Record of the Year: “Not Like Us”
  • Song of the Year: “Not Like Us”
  • Best Rap Performance: “Not Like Us”
  • Best Rap Song: “Not Like Us”
  • Best Music Video: “Not Like Us”

Lamar’s song “Not Like Us” was originally a diss written by the American rapper Drake. The feud started when Cole took a dig at Kendrick when he said: “We the big three like we started a league/ but right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali” about the trio of Drake, K. Dot, and him.

To this reply, Kendrick fired back at Cole and Drake by releasing few diss such as Euphoria, 6:16 in LA, Meet the Grahams, and Not Like Us. The last song “Not Like Us” topped Billboard’s Hot 100 on 13 May 2024. This was his fourth song that reached No. 1 spot in the Billboard Hot 100.

On top of everything, Kendrick was announced as the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime performer on 8 September 2024. Now, the diss track “Not Like Us” will be played at the halftime of the Super Bowl. This has further reduced the image of Drake as the battle of Drake Vs. Lamar has been one-sided now.
