Melania Trump Father: A Look at the Trump Family at the 2025 Inauguration

Donald Trump is inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States. Almost every member of his family including his in-laws, attended the ceremonies and events surrounding his inauguration.

His wife Melania and children: Donald Jr., Eric, Ivanka, Tiffany, Barron, and his grandchildren were at Monday’s events. Also present were less familiar relatives, such as Viktor Knavs, Trump’s father-in-law.

Eighty-year-old Viktor Knavs, Donald Trump father-in-law, was spotted during the inauguration and later at the presidential parade, standing beside his grandson, Barron Trump. He is two years older than the president.

As Trump returns to the White House, his family has changed since his first term in 2017.

His youngest son, Barron, was a fifth grader back then. Now a college freshman, he stands taller than his 6-foot-plus father. Granddaughter Kai, who was 9 then, has grown into a skilled golfer and aspiring social media influencer.

Meanwhile, grandson Joseph, once photographed sitting on Trump’s lap with a Lego White House model, is now 11 years old.

This time, Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, are in Florida, distancing themselves from the prominent roles they held during Trump’s first administration. While family members often provide moral support, a sounding board, companionship, and a welcome distraction from global challenges for presidents, they can also sometimes create headaches.

Tevi Troy the author of several books about the presidency and a former official in the George W. Bush administration said:

“Family can do things that other people can’t, and they can be trusted in a way that other people also can’t, everyone needs someone they can talk to late at night when you let your hair down, so to speak.”

The president has five children—three of whom are married—from his marriage to Ivana Trump, Marla Maples, and his current wife, Melania Trump. He is also a grandfather to 10, with an 11th grandchild expected soon.

Here’s an overview of the family circle of President Trump:

Melania Trump

She refrained from active campaigning during Trump’s 2024 campaign, making only a few public appearances. Melania was spotted at the Republican National Convention and election night only.

Last year, she released a memoir titled Melania Trump and is set to be featured in a documentary, which will be distributed by Amazon Prime Video later this year.

Although some question whether Trump’s 54-year-old wife will spend much time at the White House, she told Fox & Friends that:

“I have already packed and selected the furniture she plans to bring to the executive mansion.”

Donald Trump Jr.

Trump Jr.’s influence has grown significantly, to the point where he lobbied his father to select his close friend JD Vance for vice president. He also advocated for former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the president-elect’s choices for director of national intelligence and secretary of health and human services, respectively.

Trump Jr. helps manage the family real estate business and serves as an honorary chairman of Trump’s transition team. He also hosts a podcast and has stated that his role is to keep “bad actors” out of the administration.

He recently traveled to Greenland aboard his father’s airplane. The president-elect has expressed interest in gaining control of the mineral-rich Danish territory.

Trump Jr. has five children, whom he sometimes jokingly calls his “smurfs,” with his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump. Their names are Kai Madison, 17; Donald John III, 15; Tristan Milos, 13; Spencer Frederick, 12; and Chloe Sophia, 10.

Ivanka Trump

As Trump prepared for his 2024 campaign, Ivanka announced that while she loved and supported him, she was stepping away from politics to focus on her husband and their three children.

However, she did join her father and other family members on election night and when he rang the bell at the New York Stock Exchange in early December, after Time magazine named him Person of the Year.

She told at a podcast that this time, she simply wanted to show up for him as a daughter and be there to enjoy activities like watching a movie or a sports game together.

Eric Trump

Eric serves as an honorary chair of the transition and is a close adviser to his father, but he remains focused on managing the family business. In September, he and his brother launched a crypto platform called World Liberty Financial, with their father helping promote it during an interview on the X social media platform.

Tiffany Trump

Tiffany took a more active role in the 2024 campaign but maintained a low profile. She and her husband, Michael Boulos, are expecting their first child this year. Boulos, a businessman, accompanied Trump during the final stages of the campaign.

His father, Massad Boulos, is a Lebanese-American businessman who assisted Trump with engaging the influential Arab-American community in Michigan, a key swing state. Trump has appointed Massad Boulos as a senior adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs.

Barron Trump

The president’s youngest son, Barron Trump, is now 18 and a freshman at New York University, where he is studying business. Barron is credited by his parents and Trump campaign officials for suggesting popular podcasts among young men, which the president-elect appeared on during the campaign. Melania Trump mentioned in an interview that Barron will have a bedroom in the White House.

Melania Trump Father

Donald Trump mentioned that Barron had introduced him to people he had never heard of before. In a recent interview, Trump revealed that:

“He was very good, it’s the new wave. And he was very helpful.”

Lara Trump

Lara campaigned for him during all of his runs. After Trump’s loss to Democrat Joe Biden in 2020, she considered running for a U.S. Senate seat in her home state of North Carolina but decided against it. Instead, she became a Fox News commentator.

As Trump intensified his 2024 campaign, he named his daughter-in-law co-chair of the Republican National Committee. In this position, she became a prominent advocate, managing fundraising efforts, voter outreach, and the party’s election integrity initiative.

After the election, she stepped down from the RNC and withdrew her name from consideration as a potential successor to Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., whom Trump had chosen for secretary of state.

Jared Kushner

Kushner has stepped away from the political spotlight, but his father may soon take center stage. After the election, Trump revealed plans to nominate Charles Kushner, a real estate developer, as U.S. ambassador to France. The elder Kushner was pardoned by Trump in December 2020 after pleading guilty to tax evasion and making illegal campaign contributions years prior.

Kai Trump

Donald Trump’s 17-year-old granddaughter is an aspiring social media influencer. A behind-the-scenes video she shared from election night received 3.7 million views on YouTube.

Other posts about her grandfather have garnered millions of views on TikTok. Kai gave her first public speech at the Republican convention and is an avid golfer, often playing with her grandfather.

She said during a debate that:

“If I’m not on his team, he’ll try to get inside of my head, and he’s always surprised that I don’t let him get to me, but I have to remind him, I’m a Trump, too.”

Arabella Kushner

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s daughter was 6 years old when her grandfather showed China’s Xi Jinping a video of her singing Chinese-language songs while wearing a traditional Chinese dress. She is now 13 and Trump said about her:

It’s very good, right? She’s very smart!”

Xi remarked that Arabella was her grandfather’s little angel and a messenger of China-U.S. relations.
